Join us in Las Vegas!

2009 will bring increased legislative and regulatory scrutiny of the title insurance and settlement services industry, both at the state and Federal level.  Attorneys and business executives alike will need to stay current and dissect the details from a practical, real-world perspective in order to stay competitive.

Join a knowledgeable lineup of legal and regulatory business experts in Las Vegas February 19 – 20, 2009 to review the very latest in regulatory and enforcement trends, and find out what the pros recommend you do to stay compliant…and competitive.

Should I be there?

Title Attorneys and Compliance Officers:  Study the latest statutory, regulatory and common law changes expected to shape the title and settlement services industry in 2009.

Title and Settlement Services Businesspeople (Owners and Executives):  Learn how the newest compliance and enforcement trends can help you steer your business in the coming year.  Hear practical analysis and what it means for your everyday operation.

What will I learn?

  • Foreclosure, REO and Loan Modification:  In the roiling waters of the housing slump, a new revenue stream may exist for title companies.  But lenders will be choosing partners well-versed in the legalities and technicalities that govern the work available.
  • Marketing and Workshare Agreements:  Title companies are seeking new angles to win new business.  Find out what you’ll need to know to execute these arrangements legally.
  • All About the Regulators:  Hear directly from and speak directly to the people making the enforcement decisions that will shape your market and your business.
  • AfBAs, Markups and the New Affiliate Marketing Rule:  Not for all businesses, but if they’re done legally, they might be right for yours in a shrinking market.
  • RESPA at the state level:  How can you expect your state’s enforcement agency to respond?
  • RESPA Reform:  What will the new rule mean for your business?

Plus:

  • E-Closings and e-signatures
  • Fiduciary Duty and Duty to Non-Insured
  • Fraud
  • Litigation and common law update

The conference was very informative! August 14, 2008
Reviewer: David J. Gutmann from VP and C C, Customized Lender's Services, Inc.
As a whole, the conference was very informative. I try to keep up with the laws, regulations and trends in the industry on a daily and weekly basis and this conference was very helpful especially in terms of confirming much of what I thought I already knew. And I did pick up a few tidbits that were new. I thought that having some of the regulators on the panels was especially helpful. You don't get that type of insight from reading news articles. It was also very enjoyable to be able to talk one on one with these same regulators at the reception at the end of the first day.
