David Stein is chair of Bricker & Eckler's Banking & Financial Services Practice Group. A veteran in the financial services industry, Stein has spent more than two decades in roles as in-house and outside counsel for national independent lenders and servicers of all sizes. His practice focuses on banking and lending compliance, marketing and sales practices, regulatory examinations and investigations, enforcement actions, fair lending and loan servicing. Stein represents lenders and financial institutions in complex financial services litigation, compliance management, CFPB readiness planning and development of data security strategies.
Stein graduated from The Ohio State University and from Capital University Law School. He serves lenders and servicers throughout the United States and is admitted to practice in Ohio and Florida.
He is the author of the forthcoming MBA Compliance Essentials: Internet and Social Media Guidebook and has served on various banking industry committees, including the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Legal Committee, Qualified Mortgage/ATR Task Force and Independent Banking working groups.

Ruth Rauls concentrates her practice on complex commercial litigation, employment litigation, real estate litigation and litigation involving closely-held corporations. She has extensive experience litigating matters at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal court in New Jersey and New York, as well as in private mediations and arbitrations. She has litigated claims arising under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, and various other federal and state statutory and common law causes of action.
