Justin Bierschwale is a co-owner and real estate appraiser with Bierschwale Land Company in Junction, Texas where his primary focus has been the valuation of rural properties and natural resources involved in litigation for the past ten years. Bierschwale Land Company offers a full-service appraisal, brokerage, and consulting firm and is a natural outgrowth of Bierschwale Appraisals founded in 1982. Through the years Mr. Bierschwale has provided valuations, consulting and litigation support in conjunction with private purchases, loans, estates, conservation easements, partitions, lake acquisitions, right-of-way acquisitions, financial planning, fee simple, easement and partial interest situations and a myriad of other potential questions relating to real property. During his involvement with Bierschwale Land Company, LLC, notable clients have included the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services, Federal Aviation Administration, Texas Department of Transportation and the Lower Colorado River Authority as well as numerous privately held companies and individual land owners.
Justin graduated from Texas A&M University in December of 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics (Farm & Ranch Management option). He then obtained a Master’s Degree in Land Economics and Real Estate from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University in May 2004. Prior employees have included the Texas A&M Real Estate Research Center where he researched statewide land and urban trends, as well as JMP Land Services where he appraised commercial, industrial, and rural land throughout the coastal bend of Texas.
Justin has authored or co-authored numerous appraisal courses and seminars with the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA). Topics have included basic and advanced appraisal methodology, as well as specialized topics such as commercial scale wind operations and other natural resources. He is the chief writer of ASFMRA’s new educational textbook Valuing Rural America slated for printing in the fall of 2018. In addition to these editorial contributions, Mr. Bierschwale has served in numerous positions within both ASFMRA and the Appraisal Institute.
Justin is an active member of his local community. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Junction where he has served as an Elder on the Session. He is a past board member of the Junction Economic Development Board and past president of the Junction A&M Club. Justin currently serves as a board member of the Hill Country Fair Association and even after a long day at the office, Justin loves coaching his daughter and sons in their numerous sports activities.
Rebecca Stone, ARA

Rebecca Stone, ARA is a Certified General Appraiser from Cooperstown, NY. After graduating from the State University of New York at Cobleskill with a bachelor’s degree in dairy science, Rebecca won many awards as a loan officer at the USDA, Farm Service Agency (formerly Farmers Home Administration) in 1991 working with both housing and farm loans. In 1999, Rebecca converted to an Appraiser/Farm Loan Specialist at USDA, Farm Service Agency (FSA) in New York responsible for both reviewing and completing appraisals, in addition to loan underwriting, and training staff in GIS and GPS. In 2006, Rebecca became the Chief Appraiser for USDA, FSA in Washington, DC, but soon moved over to Farm Credit East, ACA where she turned out to be one of the top five appraisal income generators in the ACA. In 2011, Rebecca was promoted to Regional Appraiser acting as a resource for staff appraisers, along with providing training for appraisal and lending staff, administrative appraisal reviews, and developing policy. Rebecca earned her Accredited Rural Appraiser (ARA) designation from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers in 2014, after which she was promoted to Vice President at Farm Credit East, ACA. In 2017, Rebecca was promoted to Administrative Appraiser doing much of the same as she has done as the Regional Appraiser, but on a much higher more technical level and Farm Credit East wide.
Rebecca specializes in dairy appraisals, especially large complex dairies. She also appraises a variety of other properties including commercial agricultural buildings, equipment dealerships, horse farms, rural residences, orchards, onion and vegetable farms, hobby/ part-time farms and a few beverage industry properties (wineries, distilleries, breweries).

Dave GaNun, ARA
President
American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers
Dave GaNun, ARA, MRICS is the current 2017-2018 President of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers® (ASFMRA®). He has recently retired from Farm Credit East, where he was Vice President/Regional Appraiser in their Flemington, New Jersey office. He will return part-time, to Farm Credit East in September of 2018. He is a State Certified General Appraiser in the State of New Jersey and obtained his ARA in 1994.
Dave has over 40 years of agricultural lending and appraising experience. He worked for Farm Credit East and its predecessors for more than 32 years. Along with appraisal assignments and training new appraisers, he also assisted with the internal review of portfolio appraisals throughout New York and New England. Prior to Farm Credit he was employed by Farmer’s Home Administration, now Farm Service Agency with USDA. He has expertise in appraising greenhouses, horse farms, horse training and riding facilities, permanently eased properties, and nurseries.
He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BS in Animal Science and minor in Resource Economics. After graduation, Dave spent more than two years in the Peace Corps working for the Ministry of Agriculture in Suva, Fiji, where he worked with several aid projects as well as a project to determine self-sufficiency in dairy products for the nation.
Dave previously served ASFMRA as the Northeast Chapter President, is a Past District I Vice President, and was Co-Chair of the Government Relations Committee, on which he still serves. He is the author of the ASFMRA seminar: Introduction to Commercial Greenhouse Appraising (2014).
