Mitchel H. Kider is the chairman and managing partner of Weiner Brodsky Sidman Kider PC, a national law firm specializing in the representation of financial institutions, residential homebuilders and real estate settlement service providers. In his nearly 30 years as a practicing attorney, Mitch has represented banks, mortgage companies, homebuilders, credit card issuers and other financial service companies in a broad range of litigation and regulatory and compliance matters. Howard Lax is a member of Michigan-based Bodman PLC. He specializes in financial institutions consumer compliance and regulatory affairs, and real property law.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan in 1974 and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School in 1982. For 10 years, Howard was employed with the Legal Services Division of NBD Bank, and served as counsel to NBD Mortgage Co. and NBD Bank (now part of JP Morgan Chase, N.A.), as well as consumer lending counsel for private banking, manufactured housing lending, the cooperative housing share loan program and other residential loan programs. He was previously a partner with Lipson, Neilson, Cole, Seltzer, Garin PC.
Howard is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell, and was named as a 2011 Top Lawyer by DBusiness Magazine. He was also previously recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyer by Law & Politics (being in the top 5 percent of Michigan lawyers as recognized by his peers).
