Sherry-Maria Safchuk Partner Orrick
Sherry-Maria Safchuk represents clients in regulatory and compliance matters and provides support for government examinations and investigations involving the mortgage, consumer and commercial lending industries. She also assists clients on privacy and cybersecurity issues, including those related to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Sherry’s clients include banks, mortgage originators and servicers, mortgage brokers, commercial lenders, bank holding companies, private equity firms, investment advisors, investment managers, finance companies, fintechs, consumer reporting agencies, debt collection companies and related service providers.
She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), and was a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s 2016 class of Future Leaders and the California Mortgage Bankers Association’s 2014 class of Future Leaders.
Prior to joining Orrick, Sherry was a partner at Buckley LLP. She has been an associate in private practice. She also clerked for the Honorable Jeanette J. Clark in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. |

Anthony Nalbone serves as CATIC's Vice President & National Agency Manager. Anthony is a 25-year veteran of the title and mortgage industries, having spent time working for two national underwriters, a regional underwriter and holding senior leadership roles in two large national agent organizations. He has expertise with forming RESPA and state-compliant Joint Ventures and Affiliated Business Arrangements (AfBAs). He has been a long-standing member of the Real Estate Services Providers Council and has served on RESPRO's board. Anthony is based out of Glen Allen, VA. |
Sean Hanley Associate General Counsel Qualia
Sean Hanley is an in-house attorney specializing in product and regulatory law, with a focus on such areas as marketing/advertising, payments/virtual currency, and data protection (privacy/ security). Hanley has been advising B2B and B2C technology companies on these matters for 12+ years, including companies with footprints in regions with robust data protection regimes, such as Europe. Over the course of his in-house work, Hanley has engaged with a number of regulators in the US and abroad and managed dozens of outside firms in a variety of capacities, including in litigation. His background includes roles as Director of Product Compliance at social games maker Zynga, Corporate Counsel at electronic signature company DocuSign, and most recently as Associate General Counsel at ecommerce platform and marketplace Wish. At Qualia, Hanley serves as Associate General Counsel overseeing product and regulatory matters for the rapidly growing digital real estate platform. |
