Greg Stephens is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in appraisal regulations and standards, whose 45-year career includes owning and managing a regional appraisal firm, serving as chief appraiser and chief compliance officer for a national lender, national appraisal firm and national AMC. Mr. Stephens has been teaching USPAP courses nationally to appraisers and non-appraisers since 1995, is an approved instructor with the Appraisal Institute, McKissock Learning, and in addition to teaching courses, is currently providing compliance consulting services to a broad range of clients including expert witness to law firms and government agencies. He is a frequent speaker at national conferences for professional organizations around the country and was voted the Collateral Risk Network 2013 Valuation Visionary for life-long contributions to the industry. In 2014 he was the recipient of the Appraisal Institute Volunteer of the Year Award and in 2016 received the Appraisal Institute Lifetime Service Award. His professional credentials include SRA, AI-RRS designations through the Appraisal Institute Certified Distance Education Instructor – CDEI, through the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) and is an Appraisal Foundation AQB Certified USPAP Instructor. | Michelle Czekalski Bradley, SRA, GAA, CDEI, MNAA Chair Appraisal Standards Board
Michelle Czekalski ( Cha – call – ski ) Bradley is a certified general appraiser with over 37 years’ experience, an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor, a certified distance education instructor, qualified expert with the Pennsylvania Department of State, and a real estate broker. She is a real estate educator and course author, and founder of Bradley Consultants, a real estate appraisal education school. She has been reappointed as Chair of the Appraisal Standards Board with the Appraisal Foundation, which is responsible for writing, amending, and interpreting the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) which are the competency and ethical standards for real estate appraisers. She works in her family’s independent real estate and appraisal company, founded by her grandmother in 1963, where she serves as Chief Appraiser and Manager of the appraiser division. Michelle has supervised four appraiser trainees who are now certified appraisers, three of which are young women. As a member of the National Association of REALTORS, she has served as Chair of NAR’s Real Property Valuation Committee, and on behalf of NAR, provided Congressional testimony regarding VA appraisal issues to the House Veteran Affairs Committee. | Lisa Desmarais, SRA Vice President of Appraisal Issues The Appraisal Foundation Lisa Desmarais has over 25 years of appraisal experience and is a leader in the industry. She has been at The Appraisal Foundation since 2020. Prior to joining the Foundation in this capacity, Lisa served on both The Appraisal Foundation’s Appraisal Standards Board and Appraisal Practices Board. Prior to 2020, Lisa owned her own residential appraisal firm and was heavily involved in all facets of the appraisal profession. In addition to mentoring aspiring appraisers and teaching seminars, she published several papers and served as a peer reviewer for others in the profession. She was also a member of a number of appraisal task forces and research groups dating back to 2011 and served as an expert witness in numerous hearings and court cases.
